About Us at Iona Property
Built From Experience, Driven by Purpose.
At Iona Property, we don’t just invest in homes, we invest in people. We’re a family-run business rooted in lived experience, built from the ground up through hardship, resilience, and deep belief in doing things differently.
Our journey began nearly two decades ago when my wife, our eldest son, and I moved to Scotland. We had no safety net. Despite being a working family, we were offered no support as a unit, only my wife and son were recognised. With just £260 to our name, we relied on opportunity, hard work, and the kindness of a few landlords who saw our potential and gave us a chance.
That chance became our foundation. Over the years, we’ve raised ten children, some now excelling through school and life, with every one of them part of our family mission. We’ve also experienced what many never see: the long-term reality of poor housing, neglect, and the system’s indifference. We spent 12 years in a privately rented home that failed us in every way, where structural problems went ignored, health was affected, and tragedy struck breaking all our hearts.
In January 2024, we lost our baby daughter Iona to pneumonia. She died in that house. That moment changed everything.
Iona Property was born from her memory. It stands not just as a business, but as a promise. A promise to create housing that’s safe, ethical, and rooted in compassion.
We will specialise in buying and renovating properties across Scotland, transforming neglected spaces into warm, secure homes for families who deserve better. We don’t see tenants or buyers as numbers. We see them as people who need a real chance, just like we once did.
Whether we’re working with landlords, sourcing new investments, or managing HMOs, our approach stays the same: no shortcuts, no false promises, and no one left behind.
This is more than property. It’s legacy. It’s family. It’s Iona.
